Automatic to Manual swap for 2006 Volvo S60 2.5T

Post by dha89 »

So this is my second volvo, and i recently decided that when i buy a new car yo drive back and forth to work here soon that id like to make this a little project car. One of the first things i want to do is an automatic to manual swap. But im having a hard time finding info on doing that to my specific car. What i really need to know is what manual transmissions will work for my 2006 S60 2.5T, and what cars did those transmissions originally come in are the most important. Im relatively new to the performance and swap side of the volvo spectrum. I changed the engine and transmission in my first one but went back with what was in it. So if anyone can help me with that i would greatly appreciate it and if anyone has time to give me a list of what extra parts will be needed i would appreciate that too. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Matthew for the links. So from what i read it looks like my best option since im front wheel drive would be an M56. But theres also a fwd M66 variant and an M59 that could also be options too.
