You are also forgetting the fill plug o-ring. Might also need a new fill plug as it can get stripped a little. Ensure to use exact torx bits, no looseness.
Remember to level with the correct fluid temp. The OBDII Bluetooth/Wi-Fi adapter for using a phone app doesn’t show the actual transmission temp. You need a good shop type scanner or VIDA.

I'm going to change the transmission fluid this weekend. But first I wanted to make sure my VIDA software worked so I could reset the counter afterwards. The fill plug, o-ring and crush washer came in the kit.
I found out that the software runs, the USB interface gets a signal from the XC90 and has power, but the USB com status light only comes on for a second when I plug it into the laptop, then it goes out and I can't do any diagnostics. The last time I used this software and USB dongle was probably 3 years ago when the airbag light was on.
When the USB dongle is plugged into the laptop, it shows up in the Device Manager as a DICE device.

I guess I have to learn again how to use the VIDA software. I needed to turn on the car and then I could sorta read some data. But the USB light still didn't flash on the USB dongle.
It told me the oil quality sensor was red and I need to change the oil.
I clicked on the TCM but couldn't read the trans fluid temperature - it never went off the oil quality sensor.
I need to read up on how to use the software, I guess.

Got the fluid changed this weekend. It certainly shifts better overall, but I have to wait until warm weather for the real test. Once it gets into the 60s-70s or higher I'll be able to tell. This time when changing, I'm sure the level is set correctly and the oil counter was reset (that didn't happen the last time I changed it).
The old fluid was really dark. Almost black. It didn't smell burnt either.

Sounds good. Keep us updated. You might also want to repeat the process 1k miles later since the old fluid was clearly dirty and broken down. There are still remnants of the old fluid in the transmission and who knows how much loose floating media/carbon is there.
