So I picked up said car a bit ago and finally got around to messing with it and figuring it out. Ran codes on it and ended up with ECM-9150, ECM-91A7, ECM-903C, and ECM-2810, the 02 sensor code comes and goes at random. The problem with her is that she has a surging idle/ wont hold an idle for long before dying out. I have tried replacing the throttle body with another one a friend had and that didn't change anything, I put the old one back on did the ETM throttle programming and now it wont throw any codes for the throttle unit. Just the 02 sensor code at random. I have replaced every vacuum line I can find on the car according to the vacuum diagram except for anything to do with the pcv system itself. I replaced the 3 boost control valve lines with the ipd silicone hose kit they sell. The current MAF sensor tests out correctly electronically but I don't know how good it is since the car came with a K&N filter in it and its pretty dirty. I am waiting on a air filter and new MAF sensor to come in and am thinking of ordering a new in the box throttle unit.
I can hold the engine at 2k RPM to keep it running but it pops every once and a while and feels like it is misfiring although no misfire codes are being set. I know I should do a vacuum leak check using propane to see if I have any but currently taking a little break to get some thoughts from y'all. Car has newer coils of a brand I have never heard of and the plugs are all in decent shape.
Thank You
Justin

So updated on the car. It will idle for a little while with a bouncing idle weather cold or hot in park or gear but will die after about 30 seconds of running and requires help to stay running for the most part. Did a vacuum leak check using propane around all things disconnected and replaced and anywhere else I could find and there was no change in rpm or engine operation while doing so. There is an occasional popping noise coming from the area where the flame trap/ pcv system is. As far as next steps once a new throttle body and assorted flame trap parts and hoses come in I am at a stopping point. If anyone else has any ideas of what I can check please chime in. Thanks for all the information that is available on this forum. It has helped me a ton with both of my Volvo's so far.

A bad FPS will never throw an error code.
You can always get a junk yard FPS to try.
But it is so inexpensive (Bosch 0261230110 is ~ US $42), it is good to try.
PS: if you have a Fuel Gauge device, then it will be clear.

Okay so the fuel pressure sensor idea was a bust. My car was built 10/02 and it doesn't actually have one. The vin says its an 03 but I believe I have the older style fuel rail and pump system. A question I have since figuring this out is that I have a fuel pump control module bosch part number 0580001007 or volvo number 30769225 which according to fcpeuro it is for the stamped steel tank. The part number listed for my application from them 30742823, I was wondering if these parts could be interchangeable or would this not be possible.

Despite different PNs, the PEM for P2 cars is all the same.
I posted info here before, testing different PEM in my different P2 Volvos, no issues.
