2010 volvo xc60 key fob

If my key fob is only intermittently working and i already replaced the battery, is there any way to repair it with altering the transmitter in any way? or do i absolutely need to buy a new one and get it programmed?

You could try cleaning the back sides of the buttons with IPA Alcohol (Isopropyl or Isopropanol), replacing the buttons or moving the electronics to a new case.

Hi all. I have a 2013 XC60. The key fob will only lock and unlock the front doors. I can hear the actuators in rear doors clicking in response to fob button press, but the doors won't lock/unlock. I've tried inserting the metal key in door handle and locking/unlocking manually three times, and I've tried locking/unlocking with the switch on driver's door while driving. Those steps have sometimes worked in the past , but not now. I recently replaced the fob battery. Any suggestions on what to try next? Thanks.

Common Problem. The majority of the actuators have a cheap inexpensive DC motor inside a fancy mechanism on most make and models. Not sure why the industry does not put something in more reliable $?
