Afternoon folks,
My problem is now resolved.
Mark on rear cam was a tooth out - that is it was one tooth forward of where it should have been. Gently realigned it, reinstalled the timing belt and went for a drive. No check engine light and runs sweetly. Revs are up a bit when it first starts but settle down to between 600 and 700 RPM (assuming my OBDll is reading correctly.)
All good and thanks for the help.
BTW the tensioner can be reused which is handy.
The old belt and water pump (both Volvo brand) look barely worn. No cracks in the belt at all.
Cheers and beers to all.
