Reminded me of one morning when going to work at 2:00am and I glanced at my wife's Mini Clubman Estate (1980) and thought her windshield looked very clean, upon closer inspection the screen was out and sitting propped up against the fence, the rubber had been sliced at the corner and the unbroken screen removed. The culprit then leaned into the car and helped himself/herself to the Panasonic radio, carefully unbolting it from its mountings.

Received NGK iridiums for the s60, debating if i want to install them tonight. Sourced a fuel filter and roof carrier pricing. Will need an alignment soon as balljoints were installed.

Came across a few github branches on work done with the CAN bus on the P2 platform. Was very impressed with work done by members of this site @VTL. Looking to adapt this code for a heads up display once time permits.

Was playing around with some computervision algorithms and realized how easy detection is for stable images. I am tempted to start a second project using YOLO to identify street signs and display the signed speed along with a note of how long ago it was recorded. A jetson nano should have the power to run the algorithm, and the data would be displayed on a separate screen.

One thing i did not like about the P2's was the headlight check setup. After reading a few posts, the analog polling circuit means that proper load resistors will need to be installed for LED/HID retrofits. This differed from what i was used to on the 98, however the reflectors on the 08 are much better.

Programmed my drl’s from always on in the Canadian standard to on/parking/off as I did with my old car. It’s a feature that was nice especially when working late nights while using the car to charge a device or play the radio. I was surprised the foxwell scanner (nt-510rlite) was able to do the programming but it worked successfully. Also started to clean out the grime in the car from the years of previous owners.

Will probably hit a junk yard next week for headlight washer nozzles and interior trim pieces. I prefer the plastic front trim to cloth and have heard they are knterchangeable.

Did the sparkplugs on the car tonight, they looked very old however all wore the same. They were a headache to get out as they were nearly seized in. A breaker bar and a cold sweat got them out without issue. I was surprised as there was not a drop of oil under the engine cover. That was something i was not used to coming from my p80's. Best guess is the synthetic oil used for life had something to do with it.

Volvo XC70 2006 187k miles; driver side window stopped working and passenger side was intermittent, so I removed the driver door panel and examined the master window switch. I opened up the housing containing the circuitry looking for some contacts to clean. Unfortunately I didn't have the right metric allen key wrench to get the circuit board out, but I did noticed that the ribbon cable that connects to it was not inserted completely. Looked like it had either been dislodged by my investigation or by all the miles on it. Reinserted ribbon cable and now windows work fine!
