Anyone ever tried to obtain new grommets for the 8 fasteners holding up the center exhaust bracket and center drive shaft bracket?
I see writing on some......:
VOLVO 8626265 7662
Remarkably (or maybe not with these 'newer' cars) I can't seem to find any reference on this (I didn't call the dealer yet). There are parts diagrams that do not show them......maybe they were omitted after time?
I guess I could just get normal grommets 3/4" x 7/8" and replace the factory ones. It seems like such a simple thing would be 'simple.'
thanks if anyone knows. I'll update signature to include this car now:

no, no, no. not those things. I am talking about basic grommets. I put in McMaster high (higher than amazon) durometer 3/4 x 7/8 inch grommets. The factory ones MIGHT have had one flange side a bit larger than the other, but they were not oil resistant and some were very soft cut. There are 4 grommetted holes on each the exhaust support at the front of cat and the center dive shaft support. I had them off so I wanted new.....
Like everything else on the car, poor design. The metal plugs that go in the grommets aren't thick enough to allow the bolt to tighten and 'float' the load on the grommet. Instead, the grommets get smashed too much and in the case of the factory ones, several were cut from overcompression. I rearranged things somewhat but I know the new grommets will be destroyed by this design oversight. In retrospect, I should have added some thin washer-shims to get things just right.
I'll send the mcmaster PN if anyone cares, but you'll find it readily. 3/4 x 7/8 turns out to be a pretty rare size....not a lot of options.
thanks,
ms
