Timing belt change

Timing belt change

Greetings everyone!
I am in the midst of changing the timing belt on my V70 and am unsure of the cam sprocket marks and alignment with the marks on the cover.
I have the marks on the crank pulley lined up but only one of the cam sprockets is aligned. The exhaust cam sprocket is off by a tooth, this after 4 maybe 5 revolutions of the crank pulley.
What should I do next so all the marks line up?
Appreciate your suggestions!

Slip the belt off and move the pulley to align it with the marks on the cover. You can do this without disturbing the other belt path if you are careful

Top pic is the intake cam - aligned well.
Bottom pic is the exhaust cam - off by a tooth.
These are the positions when the crank pulley is aligned properly.

When looking at the intake cam sprocket, it looks like the bolts were not lined where they were initially. Should I take the belt off and adjust that sprocket?

If I adjust the exhaust cam sprocket then the intake and crank pulley will remain aligned, correct?

Yes. As abscate stated, you can slip the belt off, turn the exhaust sprocket one tooth, and reinstall the belt.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.

I use a zip tie to hold the belt on the sprocket in place while I slip the belt off the other , then move it a notch.

Don’t forget to remove zip tie then turn engine through two crank revolutions and recheck timing marks.

I don't know the solution but it does look like, as you've mentioned, that the intake (sprocket?) is the one that is off. I don't think you necessarily need the locking tool, but it might be worth it to look at the rear of the cams to make sure the notches are properly aligned before you install the belt. It might turn out that the intake sprocket is off.

By the way, double check the crank sprocket notch marks, which aren't precise. Check it against the embossed mark on the crank sprocket.
