I've moved dead cars by pushing them with my 940, doing it alone with no one in the pushed car ranks quite high in the sketchy things i've done

The xc90 threw a timing belt several months ago. Today I was finally able to tow it across the yard and uphill into the garage. I anchored a harbor freight winch and hand cranked the xc90 uphill with several sketchy tow straps that were way undersized and a one point a ratchet strap. After 3 hours I am done for the weekend.
I am running a similar calculation for my dead V70. Plan A is that CAA sends a flatbed and the driver is willing/paid to align it with the garage and drop it in. The issue is there is an incline leading into the garage of about 1ft so pushing it would be hard.

Plan B would be to use a small tractor or another car to try and push the dead v70 into the garage. I do not want to drill into the concrete nor try and set up a pulley on the shed to winch it in.

Option C:
Get a bunch of big guys to help push the wagon into the garage. I can pay in food and IOU's so that is on the list.

Hoping for A, prepping for C, dreading B XD

I would hope the CAA can get it back into your garage for you. It may depend on how they collect it. Ideally a flat bed would be the best option as it would be able to get lifted enough to allow the car to run down the bed and into the garage. If they pick it up with a come-along style that just lifts the front wheels they may be able to get it up an incline if the connection is a solid one to their vehicle.

Good Luck!

Neil.

In my case the driveway is super steep, like 6 feet rise in elevation over a 40 ft distance with a complex curve that has no consistent angle. People were suggesting we hand push a 4000+ lb vehicle up this monstrosity.

I just pulled a BMW into my shop today with my little Husqvarna tractor. Only a basic single cylinder 46" mower, but it gets the job done!

I will say the harbor freight 8000 lbs capacity come along performed admirably. I ended up putting to 1 inch anchors into my garage floor with 3/4 inch bolts hold a piece of 1/4 steel tubing in place. Then drilling holes for a shackle to attach to the winch. Overkill but it worked.

Alas I am in Albany for last weekend clearing old house.
Might have saved yourself catching a cold with the rain. Or finding a potential tailgate weather seal leak... Of course as soon as I get home the sun comes out. Lots of P80s there this year.
