I need to fix the steering rack in my ‘07 V70
It is leaking like a sieve.
I am a competent mechanic (A&P licensed) so the work is no problem. What I am having a hard time doing is finding the right seal kit for this rack. Rather than make a mistake I thought I’d ask here if anyone has a direct link to a seal kit that fits this exactly. If not,…my second question is what other models have this same EXACT rack. I’ve heard 850 but I have no idea if this is right.
My first preference is to get a direct link to the right seal kit.
2007 V70 Gasoline model with no power assisted steering, and manual 5 speed.
Any ideas?
Thanks!!!

Also any light someone could shed on any other interchanges.
I’ve heard the C70 is a direct interchange in the same year(s)
Also,….does it make any difference with the racks if a donor car is a diesel and mine is gasoline?

Where are you getting a diesel rack? I didn't think Volvo brought any to the US since the early 1980's??
As for interchange, look up one of the Volvo part supplier websites and put your vehicle details in and then check the 'what else this fits' and see. I must say that I would be surprised if a P80 (92-00) rack fits a P2 (01-09) vehicle as they have different suspensions.

From the link above, only 2005-2009 S60 and 05-07 V70 steering racks fit a FWD 077 V70. Doesn't even list the XC70 as an option.
Neil.

S60/V70/XC70 03+ all use ZF racks. 01-02 - SMI, if I remember it correctly.
Usually a leaky rack requires more work than just the seals. I got a good deal on a factory-rebuilt Bosch-ZF rack a few years back, but it costs $1k now. Ouch...
