I am running a similar calculation for my dead V70. Plan A is that CAA sends a flatbed and the driver is willing/paid to align it with the garage and drop it in. The issue is there is an incline leading into the garage of about 1ft so pushing it would be hard.

Plan B would be to use a small tractor or another car to try and push the dead v70 into the garage. I do not want to drill into the concrete nor try and set up a pulley on the shed to winch it in.

Option C:
Get a bunch of big guys to help push the wagon into the garage. I can pay in food and IOU's so that is on the list.

Hoping for A, prepping for C, dreading B XD

In my case the driveway is super steep, like 6 feet rise in elevation over a 40 ft distance with a complex curve that has no consistent angle. People were suggesting we hand push a 4000+ lb vehicle up this monstrosity.

Do you push the car or does the car push you

Spent 2 hours cleaning, for 10 minutes worth of painting. All for something that really won't be seen.

That frame brace looks great. What products did you use to clean it and to paint it? I would like to do that to mine but I'm hesitant to remove any factory coating which might be rust resistant. I could be really dumb and send it for powder coating.

^ Thanks F.F. ! I just used engine de-greaser, a putty knife, and wire brush, and a course Scotch Brite. I did spray it, and let it sit overnight, and then went after it again. Wash and rinse.
Stupid amount of caked on stuff. The brace seems to be galvanized steel, so I wouldn't worry about damaging it with cleaning.
I painted it with off the shelf Rustoleum aluminum just because I thought it would match the strut tower brace. But they do have a galvanized spray paint you could use for extra protection, considering where you're at.

I just received the two new replacement bolts for the subframe attachment today, so hopefully install this weekend.
Still skeptical that it makes a difference, but I'm going to go with Matt's suggestion, and block a wheel up, while measuring door gaps before and after installation. So we will see.

Thinking about it more, and I'm not sure that the blocking of a wheel will tell me anything. That brace has the " U " shape for lateral force, and raising the wheel doesn't mimic that. So I guess it's just going to be a very subjective sort of improvement ( Butt Force Megatromitor ).

If you use a floor jack and jack under the central OE jack point, you may see an opening of the gaps at the top of both doors. Again subjective, and opening/closing the doors may give you some idea if they have moved. Try before and after brace fitted.

I did this last year. It may be causing a clunk that I'm hearing from the area. Otherwise didn't really notice any difference. The car was well braced prior to this and the 25mm f&r sway bars add to that. This is one very stiff car!

I've started the teardown for the xc90 that threw a timing belt. So far I've got all the wiring, hose, fuel rail and intake manifold pulled. I noticed the #3 fuel injector looks quite dirty. Should I replace this?

Also that intake manifold bolt near the thermostat is a terrible design. I much prefer the p80 style thermostat. I broke the gasket in-between the thermostat housing peices and I don't see it available to purchase so might as well replace the whole assembly and get a new thermostat with it.

*edit2* That's better. On Android you can edit the image and "save as copy" and that should fix the orientation.

Wow, that injector looks nasty. Might be a good idea to send them all out for cleaning/rebuild.
