850R speedo conversion

Hello i have a special 850R that was imported from Japan it still has the KMH speedo face and i assume converter for kmh but want to swap it to mph any ideas ???

You can change the faceplate on the speedo but it is a fussy job. Might be easier to source a used cluster, follow one of the procedurals on how to extract the odo - change the problematic little drive gear while you're at it - do the arithmetic to arrive at the right mileage, and adjust the odo to reflect the cars adventures.
If you're unconcerned about such niceties, just install a used cluster of like manufacturer. Take great care removing the dash pad, it will crack if you so much as breathe on it heavily during the process.
Under no circumstances follow the misguided advice on the ipdusa website. The dash pad has to come all the way out of the car.

+1 to what foggy says.

I had to swap the speedo from KPH to MPH when moving an 850 to California. Just swapped it out with a used one. It is worth swapping the small odo gears while in there. As foggy also stated, carefully remove the whole top, do not try to remove the speedo cluster the way IPD do as it will break something.
