Correct Timing Belt Kit for 2005 S60 with replaced engine?

We have an all-stock 2005 S60 2.4L that we bought from a mechanic who said he replaced the engine with a newer one after the first "blew up". The body VIN number ends with .....2460544 which places it below the ".....3188689 break point" for the 2 available timing belt kits.

Per the parts catalog pictures, the spring loaded(?) idler pulley of the early timing kit has two short tangs and the later pulley has long tangs with a dog leg bend. Is there any way to be sure of what's in my engine before tearing into it? Are they actually interchangeable?

Not trying to be condescending, but if the engine has been replaced with a newer one, it's no longer all-stock. You need to find out what year/engine your mechanic replaced. Only then can you determine what timing belt kit you need. Talk to the mechanic you bought the car from.

Don't use the VIN number, it's the engine serial number that matters. The engine number is on a sticker on the timing belt cover or if you can't read the sticker you can find the engine number stamped on the cylinder block behind the engine, between the firewall and engine, left side. It's also not difficult or time consuming to remove front timing cover and get a look at the tensioner type.

So I got a picture of the faded timing cover sticker and (I think) a view of the "dogleg" later pulley. The engine number best as I read it is 0758534 so would you agree that this is the later tensioner?

From the photo the tensioner looks like the later style one, the sticker number doesn't confirm serial number split to me(below the tensioner version split), can you find the engine serial number stamped on the engine block?

I may take another look tomorrow if I can learn where to look; can't find my inspection mirror. It looks to me like the right-angle legs of the later tensioner are on opposite sides of a bolt head. There is a second large sticker toward the top center of the timing cover but mine's totally white.

The engine number is stamped on the block on the RIGHT side of the engine, perspective from drivers seat, not standing in front of the car.
went through this 2 years ago, I could only see half the number, stuck my phone in there and took some pics, went back with a toothbrush and brake cleaner to clean it up and got better pics, the stamping is dot matrix style , like a 1980's computer printer.

Follow the long screwdriver for approx location, I couldn't photo it due to sun glare , a garage out of direct sun and a drop light would help.
