*Rare* Volvo 850 T-5R (Needs work, OBO) - $1,000 (Austin)

Needs New Engine (Seized: Bent Shaft/Rod or Frozen Cylinder)... $1000 obo

The Volvo 850 T-5R is a powerful wagon. 240hp and 0-60 in 6.0. Only around 2000 were sent to the USA in 1995. Not many left. Currently a Sedan version selling on ebay for 12k.

Drove it into a deep puddle and hydrlocked the engine. I am guessing a bent rod. Cam shafts rotate but crank shaft doesn't (removed timing belt to test)

Could be a fun project to get up and running. A super sleeper! I am hoping someone wants to take it on and bring it back. If I had a shop i'd do it myself. Replaced the head gasket on another one before in my driveway...

Comes with roof racks and a extra tailpipe and muffler.

I have put the car onto Ebay for $500 no reserve. It already has a bid so it will sell. I hope it goes to the right person.

It's nutty that water got that far up into the intake. Were you plowing through deep water? Or did a thick blast of water knock the timing belt off several teeth and bend valves? I don't get it.

Water was up to the bottom of the bumper. Plowing through water managed to spray directly into the down spouted air intake at the front of the grill. I honestly think it was the darn licence place that created a perfect launching angle for the water. I probably was doing this for 5-10 seconds and the car died. All the other cars doing it around me had no problems... bad luck

All the best cars are too far away for me to haul home with a tow strap. :/
Looking for a V90 to be my next Volvo, at the very least a T5.

2017 XC90 Inscription - My best Volvo by far, but Ex-wife departed & I had to sell. 😕
2001 S80 T6 - rebuilt trans, head gasket, fixed & sold
1997 V70 - kid car, sold
1996 850 GLT - found under bridge, 2 year refurb project, commuter car, kid car, T-Boned - SIPS saved passenger. Totaled.
1997 VW GTI VR6 - exceedingly fast.
1971 VW Type II/231 - it was pointed out by management that the children would be killed in it.
