Yes. I saw SAAB 9-3 with AF33 (GM-baged AW55) tilted further CCW like 15 degrees. I was not able to reach the dipstick at all.

Interesting that my HF electric impact gun, even with a couple of ugga duggas, does not get them up to full torque.

This weekend P2 got new plugs, coil packs, an intercooler hose, and I checked front end / subframe / end links / struts / tie rod ends / brake hoses.....all seem good. Broke a socket and nearly my hand trying to get someone's ugga duggas out of the angle gear plug to top it off. Wow, it's on there...no new oil today! Drained and filled 2.5 qts of ATF, took it up a canyon to get it warm, added another .5. Top of the HOT fill line. Shifts well. Fluid was a reddish brown.
In my winter area I lube lug bolts, spin them on with a low power impact, maybe 50 ft lb, and finish with a tweak with the one foot Volvo bar so I know that bar has a shot of getting them off on the road. For the petite ones I keep a two foot extender bar in one car , my Amazon girl takes them off with her fingers

I only put anti-seize on the threaded section to stop the threads seizing. Never on the contact cone section as this is what seats and centers the wheels on the hub. I tighten the lugbolts to just nipped up with my impact gun and then to 100 ft/lb (P2) with my torque adjustable impact and then once on the ground tighten with a torque wrench to 140 Nm. So far so good.

I also have an extendable wrench in each car with a 19mm socket as the Volvo one is too short for the boss and probably even me!

I replaced the ball joints, control arms and sway bar links. Took my time, and it took about 7 hours. An electric impact came in handy. I used the FCP YouTube video for reference. I didn't take pictures, but I did make some TikToks :)

BlackBart wrote: 10 May 2023, 13:32 Prepping for another 900 mile road trip to Colorado in Betty the Volvo tomorrow. No blizzards in Wyoming this time I'm fairly certain. Straight through, leave at 6AM. Mrs BB will drive a leg. Food / gas stops planned. NPR station list at the ready. Supposed to have a decent tailwind across Wyoming, like 20 to 30.

I topped off the ATF again after drain & fill, looks good and red now. Aired up the tires to 35 - what a difference that makes in how this car behaves. Probably the last trip for these, they're 10 years old and a bit over 3/16". They came on the spare wheels I bought and had life in them, so I've used them two summers. My local Conoco had a high pressure air hose with a gauge(!) to air up the skinny spare. It was at 30-ish. My cheap pocket gauge only goes up to 50. I have tools, spare coil packs, etc. AAA.

Took it for a freeway test run just now to 80-ish. All very smooth, I feel good. Ran her though the car wash.

Pack up the Nana and a sammich and go!

I run our XC70 at 38psi on the fronts and 35 at the rear. If we run them lower than that the steering loads up considerably. Not sure if being at this altitude also makes a difference.

So far only this pic. The guRls arranged a meetup in Bozeman MT where my gurls needed a potty stop.

Biblical rain all day, never turned the wipers off. (Those auto-wipers are ingenious for that weather).
Periodic hydroplaning, even down at 65 mph, standing water on the freeway. I think these tires are done.

Car ran perfectly all day at 75-85. My wife hopped in to drive a leg, and instantly a check engine light came on.... hmmm... I checked it over and everything was fine, ran fine the rest of the way. After the next several shut offs and startups, error went away, everything’s fine.

I’ve never seen that much water fall out of the sky.

It's funny in a painful way. My wife is the one that has issues with the cars and tech in our house mostly?? Not to say it does not happen to me but she mostly finds the issues and I fix em!

Me: “How long has it been making that noise?!”

Her: “Oh, a couple of weeks. And sometimes smoke pours out.”
