S80 - 2009 - 2.5 T - alternator belt torn - engine fails to ignite

Hello,

Drove my car yesterday , got the reduced engine per. Notice.
Engine stalled . Parked it on the side.

Alternator belt was torn to pcs.( just replaced it a few month ago)

Tried to start the engine : it turns but not even tries to ignite.

Took upper timing belt cover and belt seems to be ok .

What can be the cause?

If timing belt jumped , and valves bent : should I hear that engine tries to ignite?

Any idea will be great.

When you say turns, does the engine spin normal speed or really fast like the starter is not engaging the flywheel? When my kids S40 2.4 threw the timing belt the starter would spin but really fast.

Any codes?

I can see camshafts are turning .

Speed - well , usually it take about 1 sec to ignite. It seems I think normal.

I’ll try to connect Vida later today and see if there are any codes.

Codes come back if you clear them? Best guess I would have is camshaft sensor but just a guess.

Do you think that the belt might have damaged the camshaft sensor/cable?

You think maybe there is a chance that cyl. Head is ok?

I wouldn’t worry about the cylinder head until you get the starting issues fixed. Once it starts monitor the oil, coolant and exhaust closely and you should know if cylinder head is ok.

May be time for a mechanic to look it?

Timing is fitted ok.
Most of the mechanics don’t want to mess with Volvo .. it is to much for them.
One of them told me he will take care of it … but does not answer my phone last two days…

Tried deleting all error but it needs to rev … can it be deleted without engine working?
