99-00 Volvo V70 Speaker wiring diagram - Dolby

Post by scot850 »

I have a couple of wiring diagrams for speakers, but none with the Dolby unit included.

I need to get info on the wire from the head unit to the center dash speaker. I have one for a C70 but it is different.

I am fitting the dash back in after repairs and realize I need to get this wire in first before I go further. It will be nearly impossible to later without removing the dash again.

I need the connector pin outs at the head unit and the + and - on the speaker.

Thanks,

Neil.

For the speakers, I am assuming connector to a #1 is the +ve speaker terminal and #2 the -ve? I can now see the pin outs on the cable from the head unit which is great. I should be able to make something from this. Naturally I don't have white wire but I do have blue!

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Now just have to figure out if the Dolby unit will go in now the main dash is back in. I forgot about fitting it first. I was having so much fun getting the 4 mounting bolts in place. The usual 3 no problem and the one that is a swine is the one behind the main fuse box! :x

Speaker #1 + #2 -.
When is unknown. We connect the multimeter (diode test mode) to the speaker. When the diffuser moves up, there is a plus on the black probe, a minus on the red one.

The Dolby unit will come out and go in with the dash
in place, but not as easily as most of us would like... :(

Thanks guys. Looking at the wiring diagrams I ow have the info and have found the speaker connector end is labelled 1 and 2, Doh! I also have the info for the connector at the head unit for pins #4 and $5 with White wire to #4 and # 2 at the speaker and Blue to # H5 and #1 at the speaker.

Next question, how the hell does the cover come off the center dash speaker? I need to repair a crack in it and it just does not seem to want to come off. I think it has 4 push tabs? Does the speaker grill come out by itself and leave the surround or does the whole top section come off. Even with the dah off I cant see for sure.

Thanks,

Neil.
