Yes, I had some of the noises I think you are describing when I had a bad upper engine mount (passenger side).

Easy to replace.

Also check the transmission torque mount.

Solved the problem - but the car might be totaled. New posting for both today...

'05 V50 T5 AWD (active)
'05 XC90 V8 (red - Dead)
(2) 2007 XC90 3.2 AWD (blue and silver) junked
