It looks like it's made of the same crumbly plastic as the power cable for the ABS motor.

Are these crumbled wiring connectors still available to purchase new? Without a new replacement, how could this plug be rehabilitated?

Sorry I forgot about this thread. 50 MVS points to jreed and scot850 for identifying that the first post was a heat shield. Specifically, it's the rectangular one above the center muffler. I've never seen metal so brittle in my life. I may replace it if I get a good used spare. It would require cutting the welded cat-to-muffler pipe and having a Bear River Convertersrepair flange installed so I could remove the muffler. Probably not worth it.

Here's another one. What part is this which was so rusted in place that it required extreme measures to remove?

Exciting to have a new entry in the ongoing contest…
I am guessing that it is the pinch bolt at the base of the control arm that attaches to the wheel hub.

A solution in record time. Good work. 50 more MVS points to jreed.

Specifically, it's the lower front of the four wheel hub bolts, perhaps taking the most road salt due to its position. That bolt was so rusted in place that even after hitting it with a blow torch for maybe five minutes and shaving the head to grip it with Vice Grips didn't help. Ultimately, I hammered my Irwin bolt extractor around its flange, cutting deep grooves into the bolt, enough to hold the extractor in place. Poor extractor must have gotten a little dull from the job but it gripped enough to break the bolt free. Perhaps I shouldn't blame the bolt head for rusting, but the middle of the shaft which looked quite corroded.

I was working on Geronimo which means we've got another entry in Name That Rusty Part. Shockingly, this one doesn't have any rust! So, what is / was this?

Dang, this is a tough one. Not sure exactly which part. Could you give us a "getting warmer..." type clue... Could it be the brass or bronze metal shell that a bearing fits into, such as on a blower motor?

Hard to tell the size.
I think it is a wheel hub seal.

+ 1 on that wheel hub seal. It certainly looks like a seal of some sort if that is not it!
