1999 V70NA Shagg Current drain 050 Amp to 1.5 Amp on pulling powertrain Buss Fuse

Post by abscate »

Im still battling battery drain on Shagg. Ive measured current drain at <100mA but the battery goes dead after one day.

100mA x 24 hours is only 2 amp hours, that should last 10-20 days

I got down and dirty into it today. Pulling the POWERTRAIN BUS fuse, the big 60A one, caused a 1.5 Amp drain on the B+

This is encouraging. if I pull the main fuse box BUS fuse the drain goes away, and doesnt come back on replacing.

I have isolated the transient and will update.

Update

The big buss fuse B6 powers fuses C5-10 in the under cowl fuse box, I was able to isolate the power draw to fuse c5

C5: ECC component test circuit. Pulling that fuse reduces draw from 1.5vamp to about 50 mA

Can you pull the two plugs off the back of the ECC and pop the fuse back in for verification?
