Looking for info/VIDA instructions on 2015.5 V60R T6 Rear Driver Side Head Restraint (Headrest) (Electrically Operated) remove/install.
Reason for replacement is nylon tape as broken away from release cam and locked the head restraint to the up position.
Volvo Part# 39814981 Mechanism. Electrically Operated. Head Restraint. (Interior code: FX0X, FX0X, E701, GX0X, GX16, GX6X, GX0X, GX6X, GV1Z, KX0X, KX6X, KX0X, KX6X, KV1Z)
Have done some exploratory work (back panel from seat back, manual latch cover and latch, head restraint and plastic trim).
From the diagram looks like the mechanism is held by two bolts (item 5 in diagram) as well as an electrical connection on bottom of seat back (push button drop) and a cable/eye to the mechanical latch.
Here is a Youtube video with some explanation on removing the manual latch and trim:

Can the Mechanism be replaced with seat-back attached to car or does it need to be removed. Also, does the Leather seat cover need to be removed?
Lots of fragile plastic clips holding the trim and leather to the seat-back frame (did not want to force or break any clips.
Thanks In Advance

Here is a follow-up if anyone else needs to replace the rear headrest mechanism.
Photo shows plastic/nylon release tape that was broken causing the head restraint to lock in place and not be released, this required replacemnt of the complete head restraint mechanism.
Step 1. Remove Lower Back Seat using flat head screw driver to depress black plastic tabs between carpet and bottom of lower back seat.
Youtube video here:
Step 2. Remove Rear side bolster, firm yank on top of bolster held in by plastic clip.
Step 3. Unbolt rear back seat pivot bracket from floor (one bolt and alignment pin) and rear back seat pivot nut.
Step 4. Disconnect head rest drop wire connector.
Seat back can now be removed from car and disassembly can be done on bench/table/floor.
Step 5. Remove head restraint trim cover (clips), head restraint (three bolts) and plastic trim piece (clips).
Step 6. Remove Manual seat release cover (plastic clips) and manual seat release mechanism (torx screws).
Youtube video here:
Step 7. Remove Back carpet (torx screws and metal plates) and leather seat cover (various plastic trim hooks).
Step 8. Disconnect manual release cable form release lever.
Step 9. Disconnect electrical connection for electric release signal wire.
Step 10. Unbolt head restraint mechanism from seat back (two torx bolts either side of mech).
Finally reverse steps to install replacement head restraint mech.
