Elsewhere on the Forum there is a 'torque chart' that specifies 35 ft/lbs for the oil pan drain plug. I would propose that is a tad too tight.

It is 35 Nm NOT 35 ft/lb.

When I was doing my timing belt, I was checking several sources. I even check the conversions in the Volvo documentation, as it's not always correct either. I found at least one spec, where the SAE and SI values were not equal to each other.

That's fair. I work on that ft/lb = 75% Nm. It's very close. So your oil pan is 35 Nm = approx. 26-27 ft/lb. Don't want it tighter than that as you said or you crush the crush washer too much and remove the sealing properties!!

That oil pan plug was probably torqued to double the 35 Nm spec. I almost had to get out a breaker bar to remove it. It was brake caliper bracket bolt tight. No wonder the plug was wearing the crush washer like a second skin.

The notch is a giveaway on the bumper bracket. Are they are mirrored for each side? I'd say it's the right / passenger's side because I've seen two P80 rear bumpers retaining more water on the right side, ruining that bracket worse / faster than the left. Really makes me want to drill drain holes in the bumper metal. I think Robert DIY did that.

It's funny you mention that, my rear right is precisely where my droop has started on my XC.
