No, I have no idea how that’s done, that makes sense. Did you have to heat it to break the old glue? My drivers side lens is badly cracked and I get water condensing in there in the winter.

No heat needed. Glue was hard enough in places to peel apart. Could use a utility knife if needs help. Wear gloves on old one, that glass is sharp.

my finances changed, wife paid all the mortgage off and I now have an extra $1000 to play with every month.
Visited concrete company, For 40 psi they quoted $850 to drop 4 cubic yards once I get the hole prepped.
Bought a cheap elec jackhammer on amazon and started breaking up the 4" concrete floor.
It goes through in about 5 seconds , I'm the limiting factor. I'm good for 30 minutes then I need a nap.
Neighbor wants the old concrete for solid fill, that solves that problem.
Raining today , below 60F, can't beat this weather for heavy projects.

Are you putting down a new pad and planning for a hoist or are you hoping to build a pit?
40 psi concrete? For mine I used the recommended 3000 psi concrete and 6" deep with rebar reinforcing.
Neil.

Took a therapeutic break from life and cleaned parts of the car with a steamer and some autoglym magma. Cleaned the formats, organized the loading area, and made the terra wheels shine.

Its for a lift.
I'm removing a 4" cracked and heaved pad right now, its slow going.
There was no moisture underlay or rebar in the original.
I might end up deeper, I priced it for 4 yards but I only need 3, so I can go deeper at the same cost.
I'll use rebar sections to tie into the old concrete with wire mesh sitting on the rebar.
If I can afford to use rebar everywhere I'll do that instead of wire mesh, still pricing things out.
10 mil poly sheet underlay.
the original pad is 14'x14' x 4 inch , I can go 6 inch deep and still be less than 4 yards.
i'm surprised how expensive a bull float is, did you rent one ?

I did not do the concrete myself. I had a new garage built specifically so I could mount a 2 post hoist. So sorry, I did not rent any equipment but I know rental prices up here have shot up in the last couple of years.
As for fiber glass rebar, I have never seen it. Maybe it would be good for damp areas or has more flexibility to allow some movement and lessen the chances of concrete cracking?
Neil.
