The V60 wagon is a P3 chassis?

Post by BlackBart »

The first gen V60's are apparently a P3 chassis. I don't know about the second gen after 2018. I'm interested in 2011 to 2017.

What-all do they share with the P3 wagons and other models? Are the 5 cyl engines that same? I'm just reading about a 2012 model year engine failure issue - did the V70's and XC70's have this same problem with sludging and rings?

Thanks -

Learned a few things reading. I'd rather be after the 2014 facelift, and before the 2019 redesign for budget. If you stay newer than the reports of sludged-up rings, then you get into the 4-cylinder-only years. Very disappointed to find the 5-cyl white block was discontinued for the 2017 model year. Bummer.

Summary:

2014 (first facelift year)

T5 2.5T 5-cyl 250 hp / 266 t
6-speed auto
AWD optional
21/30 FWD
20/29 AWD
17” wheels

Sport package had 18” wheels, stiffer springs & shocks, sport seats, paddle shift.

T6 3.0T straight 6 300 hp / 325 t
AWD
6 speed auto
18/25
Has the contents of the Climate and Sport packages.

R-Design 325 hp / 354 t
AWD
18” special wheels

2015

New 4-cyl with 8-speed auto added. FWD only
Base 2.0T 240 hp / 258 t
Option 2.0 turbo and supercharged 302 hp / 295 t (T6 Drive-E)
2.5T 5 and 3.0T 6 remain.
“2015.5” (after June 2014) had additional standard and optional equipment
R-Design has Polestar tuning to 325 hp / 354 t

2016

T5-E is the 2.0T 4-cyl.
T5 AWD is 2.5T 5-cyl w/ 6-speed auto

T6 R-Design AWD 3.0T 6-cyl 6-speed auto
Late year change to T6 Drive-E 4-cyl with 302 hp.
17 and 18” wheels depending.
R-Design has 3.0T, sport package, 19” wheels
Polestar still has 3.0T with 345 hp, 20” wheels

2017

2.0 tc & sc 4-cyl 302 hp / 295 t 8-spd auto

2018

Mostly unchanged.
Same two 2.0T and TC/SC engines w/ 8-spd auto

Helpful data on model year differences. But I was under the impression that the "mild hybrid" was only on the V90, not on the V60 (re 2019 change).
Are 2019 thru 2022 the same?

So maybe the 2023 is another refresh, at least as far as infecting the navigation etc with google software?
