2002 V70 XC...Does My Car Have STC or Not?

Post by supraraleigh »

Hello, my dash is lit up like a Chrismas tree. One of the lights on the right side of the dash is the amber triangle with a picture of a skidding car. However, I do not recall ever seeing this light on before my dash started to light up all the idiot lights. And, I can't seem to find a button for STC as there only blanks under the climate control where some cars have buttons.

My question is; How do I determine if my car has STC? And, I can't just look for a slippery road and try to make an abrupt move because all the idiot lights being on means the functions such as ABS are locked out.

Thanks.

Scottish Truckers Club? No, I think it's Stability and Traction Control (for the rest of us).

My 2001 V70 has a button on the console that says STC. As near as I can tell, pressing the button on and off makes no change. Front wheel slip does not change. And, with the T5, wheel slip is possible anytime you want.

My 02 S60 has a button on lower center console, 05 S60 has DSTC as a menu item in the dash when you rotate through avg Speed, Instantaneous MPG, etc.

If you have a wheel speed sensor out it’ll kick DSC off. Probably need to clear codes and see what comes back.

Pretty sure not. She's not home right now, I can't check. If that was optional, we don't have it.
