Uneven tire wear.

Both of my rear tires look like this:
The right tire (not shown) looks to be worn in that part slightly less.

What causes this problem? Does the car just need an alignment, or is it a suspension issue?
It's also possible that these tires used to be on the front of the car but were rotated. The front tires do not have any unusual wear.

If these were on the front, do any of the inner and outer tie rods look recent? Could be the tie rod(s) were replaced and the issue corrected but the tires were not replaced. Those tires should be replaced now!

These cars have 4 wheel alignment. If you are not sure, an alignment would highlight any issues assuming you can find a good shop.

He got the rear alignment fixed with a new track bar..
Evan isn't a volvo mechanic, he does things differently than we do but it works.

On my car the front drop links were bent from an accident before I bought it, the shop said it couldn't be aligned , no suggestions , I found the bent drop links after pulling one off to inspect. I still have rear drop links to install but the kettles boiling so.....
