Yes. Or blow away the chip with hot air and read it in a chip programmer.

Its far easier and simpler too use usbjtag to connect too the back on the module instead of removing the flash chip considering its buried and annoying too get too. As far as I know the usbjtag tool is cheap for what it can do.

I was just going to use a microcontroller and use Luke's code from page 218 to read the flash memory on the chip, since I already have a microcontroller. The usbjtag tool looks dope but I don't really have 500+ doll hairs to spend on that right now

Does the Chinese clone ELM327 support more custom commands? Its a nice tool when in a pinch but does not show etm throttle position.

In simpler terms, 7A A6 13 37 is for TPS1. The reason I am asking is because I have my suspicions that my Magnetti Marelli ETM might be in the initial stages of failure.
By driving with the little dongle I can at least verify if the tps1 and 2 diverge in any meaningful way.

UPDATE:Turns out TPS1 and TPS2 are not implemeneted on the Denso Bifuel ECU. I wonder what else I can use. The direct ETM commands don't seem to be documented.

I'm not sure which usbjtag you're looking at but I just checked on there site and it's $65

Arduino is like $5, and it's a great chance you have one laying around.

Jeez, maybe I was looking at the wrong one! That sounds like a much more reasonable price. Im using the Seeed Studio XIAO, which is like 20 bucks for three. They're pretty powerful for their size.
