'02 V70 (Cam Seal explanation)

Morning gentlemen;
Well I have been leaking a fair amount of oil over the last several weeks and have kept adding a quart or so every 3-4 days until I could get an appointment with my mechanic. He told me yesterday that my "cam seal" is shot and needs to be replaced. He also said since he is in there he might as well replace the "exhaust seal". Just wanted to better understand from someone what exactly is a cam seal?
Trying to picture that cam's are internal and ask myself why would they need a seal. Looks like I will need to re-replace my recently new timing belt as he said there is probably oil all over the belt.

Cam seals are on the end of the cams and keep the oil in. Check your PVC for pressure as if the pressure popped the seal, it will pop the new one out , too. Adding a seal job onto a side with VVT will add 2-4 of hours labour to the job, or $200-400

Start at 2:30, Robert points right at them. They are right behind the timing belt gears on the cams.

abscate, is that PVC item you spoke of also named "Oil Breather Box". Behind the manifold?

It’s a whole system. Pipes , pTC nipple, hoses , box. All needs to be cleaned
