Glad it worked out! Fitting the batteries can be a little tricky as you found out.

Hi Neil,
Yeah, and I didn't want to break the plastic.
Lucky though if we did break the plastic only, they sell empty shells to replace the encasing (with no circuit inside).
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.
1998 v70, non turbo, FWD, base model, on the road from April 2nd, 2015 to July 26, 2023.

I bought new cases for my 99 S70 fobs. Both originals were in horrible condition. I cleaned up the electronic board, and added new batteries, and they both worked without being reprogrammed/repaired. I got them on Amazon.
Unfortunately, I haven't found new cases for my 96 850. Those originals aren't really bad, but it would have been nice to have brand new ones.

Yes, the ones for the 99 S70 do, although my replacements don't have the FCC (or any) writing in the back.MrAl wrote: ↑18 Jul 2023, 08:59Hi,454cid wrote: ↑17 Jul 2023, 22:06I bought new cases for my 99 S70 fobs. Oh i was asking about the 850 fob cases.
Do they look like either A or B in the image, or can you post a pic of your 850 fob?

Closest i can find NEW is in the picture. I think it's for 1997 850.
If your board fits in there it might work.
All the others were USED and very worn out looking with the oval buttons.

Hi,
Yeah, was trying to help find a new case for member 454cid but it's harder than I thought it would be to find a new bare case like that one.
Seems there are no new cases for 1996 850 that look exactly like the one pictured in figure A in that last image.
