Hope to see some video(s) on this! I think this is the most cost effective option, with not a lot more work than a "simple" AWD subframe replacement.rspi wrote: ↑25 Jul 2023, 16:20 I'm about to dive in. My son-by-law M66 swapped '99 V70R has rear suspension bushings bad and now someone hit it in the rear on the wheel and damaged the rear end even more. So here I go. I'll try to make a video. This is a Michigan vehicle so I'll edit out all of the swear words. :/

Cost of shipping would be my issue, but likewise I have some rear end parts for an AWD P80.

Hi everyone...
Maybe this is a stupid question but whatever..
Instead of swapping my multilink, do you think, as my awd is not functionning properly, that I can just put off rear diff, rear cv axles, and drive like that ?
I already put off the central shaft as it was vibrating in turns, but is it possible to gain rear diff weight, without putting too much effort on rear bearings ?
Thanks !

I had been curious about this as well before I did this swap, but I didn't find much information. I'm not sure how the rear bearings would like the lack of axles. I don't THINK anything else would be affected by removing the diff and whatnot, but I can't say for sure.Maestrours wrote: ↑06 Oct 2023, 12:22 Hi everyone...

But where would the half shafts attach on the inboard side? You would need to disassemble them and install just the outer cup to the wheel hub.

This post has some pictures on p1 and p4 about the half shafts.
You'd separate the 2 CV axles from the axle itself and bolt them back in their respective places. The VC side so nothing leaks out. And the wheel hub side so that way the ABS still picks up the signal. That side will just bolt on like you unbolted it

If it wasn't for the fuel tank nonsense and the lack of actual support for the AWD suspension stuff, I wouldn't mind having that instead of the Delta link set-up.
I mean I do custom stuff all of the time for my cars anyway, but I have other projects to direct that energy towards.
( I would REALLY like my 854 to be AWD, but it's just not cost-effective to keep them in service.)
