98 V70 NA Dash Displays all 8's and flashes

Drove to work this morning, no problem. Just went out to go to lunch, and nothing when I turn the key...and I have all 8's on the LCD portions of the instrument display. Inserted key multiple times, tried in neutral, checked battery connections. Display is also flashing. Any ideas on this one? Grateful for any help! Thanks!

Thanks for all of your help! Shorted battery. Replaced, all good now.
