Remove Cross Country from tailgate and trim from doors and fenders?

How can the "Cross Country" strip from the tailgate so it will look good on a non-XC? How can the grey trim be removed from XC doors and fenders, replaced with color matching trim from non-XC? I see so many XCs in junkyards but I could use those body panels for a non-XC, so the conversion would help.

Sorry, but I am a little confused. Are you wanting to fit the V70 XC door and tailgate trim to a regular V70? Doors you could swap hole but will need a color matched car for ease. Same would be true for the tailgate. They should all fit the same. Not sure if the trim strips are interchangeable. Been a while, can't recall if the trin is slotted and held by a small screw at the rear edge like an 850 or if they are held on with double sided tape. Sorry.

I have not tried this but a heat gun can be used to soften some adhesives. It might work for removing the trim. Work slowly and use a smooth plastic trim tool to try to pry off after heating. Use GooGone to remove remaining adhesive.

I'm interested in removing the "Cross Country" banner from below the glass on a tailgate. If it is an adhesive, it will have covered up the old paint, thus sun fade would make that strip darker than any other place. Not ideal.

I seem to recall seeing the banner is just hat, and adhesive application. These days you can get a drill mounted tool to remove those. Downside is as you say, it could be darker under there from not being bleached for all those years.

The cross country is a sticker. A rather thick sticker. And the door strips are just held on by adhesive.

There is a rubber(?) disc drill attachment that can be used to remove decals.

I picked this as although Amazon and others sell it, sometimes when I put links to Canadian sources they don't seem to work for others south of the border (like Amazon.ca).

Advice is best to use on a warm day as it helps with the adhesive removal.

Thanks for the input. Removing the tailgate banner sounds easy. Replacing the fender/door trim sounds harder since I'd have to find an adhesive which will actually stick. I'll save XC70 parts as a last resort.

Weak effort on that T5 to use the wrong front end parts. Makes me wonder if it was in an accident and actually needed all those parts. I want them for Geronimo because, no surprise, what's there is rusted and spray painted.
