When I bought Sveedy, I had an intermittent ABS light issue. Looking through some old receipts, I found a reference to the ABS light.
The indy shop wrote that a sensor switch was bad, and NLA. I started poking around and found a plug installed where this switch was supposed to be on the master cylinder. Replaced it with one from a junk yard, and never had a ABS light issue again.

The main issue on ABS modules is the area where the power and wiring connectors enter the unit. As I feared this looks different to my eyes than what I was expecting, but maybe it is just the orientation I am looking at this I don't see the connectors. I suggest you try asking Matty for guidance at Mid-West.

hi neil and all well i have gone over and over soldering and using the jewelers loupe and a powerful led light i can see zero cracks or brown bits but it still fails to work and abs light is on continuously and brighter than ever!
also found the only reconditioners will not touch it once its been opened so i have ordered a used one from ebay its coming from lithuania and a whole £13 and free post i shall try it see if it works if so great if not it will be good to send for recon work.
im almost sure whatever has failed is under that top pcb and i see 4 fixings holding it in which look like allen head screws but refuse to crack and i rounded out one and bent an allen key,so only option would be drill them out and i may just do that on the first used one that i bought and was smashed badly so bad it cannot be fixed so a good guinea pig for learning with and if i find a fault under the pcb a can use screws to resecure the board.
i find the soldering very hard one useless hand and one shaky one, poor eyesight so glasses and a magnifying glass or the loupe and the soldering iron is all a bit awkward and not fun at all!
i was surprised the car still runs with the unit entirely removed from the car! not like the old pug one little thing out of whack and you got zero chance of it starting as the immobiliser kicks in.
also found the damn oil leak is from the driveshaft diff seal i must have clobbered it trying to fit it back on my own,it is the long side and weighs about the same as me!cheers

Yes as you found they can run with the unit removed. All you then have is a regular brake system. Only reason to leave it in place is to keep dirt of the system. I get you with the wonky arm and failing eyesight!

hi all well no good news, tried every avenue to find a replacement abs module and i have drawn a blank, started by going through all the vendors online and uk,then further afield and as neil mentioned i tried midwest abs and they said as it is not a repairable unit they cannot help, several places offer to see if they can do anything with it but want quite a lot of dosh to even see if they can mend it,skandix have one but nearly £400 plus post and no way on earth i can afford that,i would hate to have to give up on the old girl now after getting majority of her up to good order again,i did find several one digit out on part number
mines a.te. 9401541 and i have found 9401542 and it looks identical but cannot be sure enough to risk a couple of hundred quid on something that may not even fit,
i may attack the guinea pig one with the drill and see if i can get a good look under the pcb id bet theres a simple solder joint fail under it and being as it came broken i cannot make it worse i guess it just has to have the plug held in with cable ties instead of the lever bit, pissed off with looking now!peace all

I'm hoping to make it down to the junkyard this week and there are a couple of older (93/4) 850's there, but not sure what is left as they have been there a while. I will try and see if they have ABS modules and now I have the part number I can see if I can find one. Have to say the chances of a 30 year old unit being good is slim, but if it is cheap enough it may work as a donor for parts.

Sent you a PM for a possible ECU source and reasonably affordable.
