That's the rear half of the car underside cleaned ready for the Lanoguard application. There was no rust, no thick caked on mud just a light coat of dirt from being 18 years old.
What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

After you spray the car with sheep dip, do Dodge Rams follow you around?

You're making me angry with how beautiful and clean that car is already, and that paint is my favourite colour offered on Volvo's! Could you post a pic of the product you're using on the underbody. Thanks.

What prompted you to replace the regulator? The wife's xc70 driver window popped out of the blue clip this evening and is extremely slooow and motor straining to go up now after popping back in. Sprayed all channels with silicone lube and got no satisfaction.

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

when the blue slider blocks start popping loose the actuator arms are probably twisted.
you can straighten them but it will keep doing it, once they twist they keep re-twisting.
Mine was caused by glass freezing to the rubber seal in winter.

No, but the Border Collies in the area try to chase the car back into the field
Thanks, it's not my usual choice of colour but I've grown rather fond of it and it's easier to keep clean than dark colours. I did the underside of my 850 last year with the same product. If it's good enough to keep old Land Rovers on the roads then my Volvo will last foreverBlacklab467 wrote: ↑23 Aug 2023, 19:31 You're making me angry with how beautiful and clean that car is already, and that paint is my favourite colour offered on Volvo's! Now if I posted the undercarriage of my E30 it will spoil all the happy brain chemicals y'all are experiencing.
---
While I'm here, I did my second PCV overhaul yesterday. Practice aka confidence helps with this job, took me 10-12 hours opposed to 3 days last time (thanks intake banjo). That includes the 1+ hour of existential dread after dropping the driverside simple banjo. In a moment of exasperation, I shimmied under the chassis and blindly reached my hand up into the oil pit. Somehow dug it out from who knows where... then I was allowed to continue the Blind Washer Threading Olympics.
I'm not sure whether being on a time limit helps you perform any better, but I can say that my pack of 12 crush washers is now down to 3. If I didn't order that many I'd probably still be searching for those nonmagnetic heathens.
