Adjustment of pre-tensioning piston on a steering rack of a P2 volvo

Hey guys, I've been doing some research on the adjustment of the pre-tensioning piston on the steering rack, also called the yoke damper. I have a 2001 S60 T5 with the SMI branded rack. I tried looking through forums and I didn't find much, especially for Pre ZF rack cars. Only thing I found on youtube was a video showing the adjustment on a ZF rack with the 17 mm Nut.

Before anybody tells me to just change my suspension components, they're all done. New lemforder inner and outter tie rods, powerflex control arm bushings, delrin subframe bushings, new swaybar links front and rear, new monroe shocks front and rear, and a bunch of other stuff. I still have play in the steering and I think adjusting the pinion lash would help tremendously.



First question is, has anybody done the adjustment on the old SMI racks on a P2? I found a forum post of a person that did it on an 850 and it seems like it had the same steering rack as mine. Rack and pinion play on the inside



He talked about using a 10 mm hex and for some reason, mine seems like it's bigger than a 10, more like a 12.

Second question is, why can't I find any information about it in Vida? I'm looking under the cleaning, inspection and adjustment tab. I've looked everywhere else and cannot find any information about it. I did find a document for MY04+ cars but I would like to find more information on the older style racks.
