2004 S60 headlight assemblies

I have a 2004 S60 2.4. It was my mother's. It's been garaged and only has 55,000 miles on it. It's got a few dings, nothing really major and I would like to freshen it up a bit and use it as my daily driver. The right headlight assembly has to be replaced. From what I can see, it looks like the '01 to '04 lenses had those vertical "ridges" in them, but from pictures it looks like the 2005 lenses were clear - which I think looks a lot cleaner. I have the opportunity to purchase some '05 assemblies and wanted to know if they are interchangeable from both years or if I have to use '04 assemblies. I'd love it if anyone has some experience with this. - George

01-04 and 05-09 are not interchangeable. You still can fit them, but with wiring harness modifications.

I’d way rather have the earlier glass ones than the later plastic which cloud and seem to need yearly polishing to remain clear.

My kids 02 S60 had a chip in the glass and swapping the glass with a eBay sourced unit was a pretty straightforward afternoon job.
