WTB, Volvo S70 Thule cross bar mtg feet

I may pull them anyway as it is cheaper than trying to figure out the right ones. I can then decide if to keep or not. There are a couple of square versions. I have a set for my car that I can take a picture of so we can compare if they will work. It will be later today before I can do that but I will do it.

Hi Dirk, made time to get the example of my own 'non-rail' cross bars down to take a picture.

This version, which I am fairly sure is the same as the set at the junkyard, have riveted end mounts. The rivets run right through the body of the bar and are swaged at the other side. So I guess the ends can be drilled out, but then you would have to find a way to attach them to your bars. There may be another variant that can be easily slid of a bar and swapped to yours but I have not seen a set or that I recall.

I have for some reason 1 off the load bar style and that looks like the end may be removable with the plastic end cap can be removed.

Hi Neil, sorry I saw this too late, but those would have worked. They look like the ones sold through the dealer with the end caps like that. From what I am learning, the Thule ones were available with a through mount that would allow one to use longer bars. Either design would work for my car.

So, still hunting.

I'll keep looking. I thought I had seen a different version with the ends being able to slide on the longer cross bars, but not seen the one for the gutter mount type, only for the roof rails. I'll keep a look out.

So, I have the Thule stuff on both of our 850's.

They are using the 400XT Aero feet mounts with the #161 Fit Kit. The fit kit includes the foot pads (#26 (4)) and the clips (#120 (2) and #261 (2)).
These fit the square bars.





I was able to find all of the pieces on ebay at the time and while I'm not in the UK, there are several options of the 161 FK and the 400xt mounts available on ebay here in the US.

Hi Chuck, thanks so much for all this information. Searching without actual part numbers did not yield any good results. But with the numbers you provided I should be able to find something.
But what you have is exactly what I am looking for. Either that, or the cross bars with feet that you could buy from the Volvo dealer long time ago.
