Spent last hour chatting with a very nice young guy who is a former colleague of my mechanic buddy. He is an apprentice at the local dealer and drives a 98 S70 T5. Car looks clean except one door with rust in it. Weird.
He left a happy guy with an S70 trunk spoiler with a high level brake light built in. He has a plain version on his car now but really prefers the brake light version for safety/visibility. He has been looking for one for ages and I happened on this on in the junkyard last week, and best thing is it is the correct color!
Bonus is he does not need the mounting brackets so I'll keep them for now until he confirms his own are good. After that they will go in the 'unobtanium' pile in the stash for anyone else that needs them. I am hoping to also get a 2nd set of brackets one half of which needs a slight repair. Now just have to decide if I keep the 'standard' sedan trunk spoiler as I potentially have good brackets for it, or take just the spoiler back to the yard for credit? Decisions, decisions!!

Clearly you can see that the engine is installed backward. Remove, rotate, reinstall. Easy, right?
Keep it in case someone needs it. Those spoilers are tough to find. Besides, it's currently adding +10 HP to your parts stash.
I just bought a nice used tailgate for Geronimo. It's from a GLT and had a spoiler at one point, but it was gone when I got it. Now I want to obtain a V70 spoiler for the T5M. So silly and useless, but a tasteful OEM "upgrade" like many other little things done by the previous owner of that car.

The spoilers look great on the wagons (sedans too, for that matter!) even if they're useless. I still need to paint match mine!FireFox31 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2023, 11:33 I just bought a nice used tailgate for Geronimo. It's from a GLT and had a spoiler at one point, but it was gone when I got it. That is not the correct 'eggcrate' grille!
Well remembering how the challenge was last time with the binding cam issue, you clearly learned the tricks for this time! Long may it continue!
Firefox, hate to say it, but I have a wagon tailgate spoiler, but more importantly the NLA mounts. Unfortunately a little scraped and in white!
I may keep the sedan one, not decided yet!
Neil.

Abscate, when installing the cams and cam cover, do you try and seat the cam seals during assembly or leave them loose and tap them in after the cover is bolted down?
