Thanks Abscate. I think I'm gonna try some local black permatex and just dab a little around the edge before placing the cam cover. For now I'm putting it on hold since I found one of tye camshaft sensor wheels broke.

Also I lost one of the idler bolts and had to come up with an alternate plan. I'm not proud of what I did.

Easily replaced when you find it.

You can test the depth of the block hole to see if that longer bolt won’t bottom out , too

Dr Dremel can also resize bolts for you. Put a nut on it first to chase the thread , post cut

Hi,

Good idea with the nut. A little taper at the very end helps too to get the bolt started when screwing it in.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

I broke the sunroof today. One of the arms that guide and heighten the sunroof as it raises to vent is broken. I managed to get it closed with some persuasion. Now I cant open it until Im ready to take a crack at it.

Take the whole head liner out and the sunroof 'cassette'. You will be glad you did as it is a challenge to get access to some of it and some you can't disassemble without removing it all.

I was watching a TV program about 2 brothers who get commissioned by one of the auto channel program channels to build unusual vehicle based on something they pull out of a barn or such. I was very disappointed to see the guys lift a pickup by the center of the rear diff, no wheel chocks, and no axle stands and start crawling under it! Wow, what a way to teach the newbies to car repair!!

I finally finished 2 rust repairs (tailgate and roof-antenna hole).
So I'm driving it again and again got a srs code <212 driver airb. Open c.> after it sat for a while. Meh, I ordered a used clock spring, maybe I'll try that as a fix when I feel like it. It seems to go away after I clear it until it sits again for a longer time.

Otherwise it is running fine :)
