headlight conundrum 99 S70

1999 S70 GLT. I have a weird issue with the passenger side headlight. This one has me scratching my head. The left light has a focal point, the right one does not. No matter how i move or adjust the aiming nothing changes. I can put my hand on the lens the you see the light dull somewhat. there is no dimming of light on the left or right so I know it is not aimed way off. its like somehow what would normally be a beam directed forward is being diffused. Also i popped the clip holding the internal bracket in place and was able to pivot the inside bracket with the light on..made no noticeable difference..

I have a spare set of a donor car (not sure of year or model, but i place to check it out and see if i can figure out what is going on

Most likely the reflective coating gave up. Swap it out would be my suggestion.
Several thousand keystrokes on here about our lights. Carefully curated used units or TYC seem to be the only reasonable fixes.

100% burned reflectors. Swap the one headlight for a good one and you’ll be back to normal. Mine did that too, same side (though I took the expensive route and went Jewels with projectors for far superior light output)

Reflectors are dulled but if you look closely you will find left amd right Volvo glass have different lenses , too
