ECM drains battery?
ECM drains battery?
2009 XC70: parasitic drain causes battery to go flat. I noticed that the A/C solenoid 'hums' (high pitched pwm sound) when the engine is off, key out, doors locked, etc. It's subtle - you have to have your ear to it to hear it. If I pull and replace relay 2/22, no change. This is expected as relay 22 seems to be the switched power for the A/C solenoid. If I pull and replace the 2 pin connector to the A/C solenoid or fuse 38, the solenoid powers off then on again. If I pull and replace relay 2/32 (main power to ECM) or fuse 30 (control power to relay 32), the solenoid powers off and stays off. Relay 2/32 is functional, as I can interchange it with the adjacent starter relay. This leads me to believe that either the ECM is bad, or something is causing it to remain powered on after the engine is shut off. Any advice before I replace the ECM? Attaching a screen shot of the electrical diagram for reference.
