CCM-0021 and CCM-0007 Air Quality sensor ..........fixed.
On a recent VIDA scan at the dealership my car was found to have a passenger compartment temperature sensor fault. On inspection, I found that the tiny sensor in the dashboard had a severed wire, probably from a previous owner attempting to pick out the lint that tends to gather in the tiny vent.
I managed to harvest a good sensor from the wreckers plus the fan that goes behind it earlier in the week and installed it this morning. Almost complete disassembly of the heater/ AC control head is necessary to get to the solder points to remove the old sensor and solder in the new one. This is where the sensor lives:
As you can see, the wires have become severed, they should join in the middle. It was a little difficult to solder out the old one but doable, and it took some steady hands to solder in the new one. As you can see, the wires are tiny.
If you have to do this job or find you have severed wires on the sensor, you may be able to replace the entire Dash control head, I'm not sure if it is vehicle specific or not and may need to be cloned to your SN. I found it took a couple hours to do this job of just replacing the sensor.
