What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Happy Birthday Kära. 18 years ago today the V70 was first registered and driven out of Stratstone Volvo, Rochdale Road, Oldham by its first owner, 65 year old Hubert Hirst of The Oldham Evening Chronicle. It now has a grand total of 65,800 miles on the clock after sitting unused in a garage for almost 10 years after Hubert passed away. A search online and I've found a Google Streetview image from 2008 and the car is sitting in the driveway of Hubert's house

Took the XC out to the mountains for a Saturday hike to see the Larch pines in their fall colours. I put 380 kms on and averaged 9.4 litres/ 100 kms.

Nice place! Wow. Looks a bit like our Glacier Park. Do you already have your snows on?

All we did was haul recycle and groceries. Good old reliable useful Betty -
(my neighbor has a '53 Chevy truck street rod, showing through the windshield)

No winters on yet, I'm gonna wait till late October or first snow. I got new Michelin X-ice's last year and I want to keep the edges sharp for ski season!

Picked up some roof racks for the 08 s60 and drove a kayak about 300km back to home base. Wind noise was a tiny bit louder but closing the sun roof shade helped a lot.

It isnt as big as my old wagon but at this stage of life i can get away with a back seat full of luggage, and a trunk full of tools

Sometimes when searching for obsolete Volvo parts one has to resign oneself to the fact that it just isn't going to happen. Then when forgotten about, something pops up online and that gets one thinking it just might be the illusive item I never imagined I would ever find as a NOS item

A NOS set of V70 Exc floor mats had my eyes wide open, after a quich search of the part number I decided rather quickly to contact the vendor and they are now mine.

Shoes off at the door thank you

Wow, those are beauties! Was that an E-bay find? I sure like the original floor mats and winter rubber Volvo floor mats but they aren't really that functional in very snowy climates. I'd love to find a set of those!

@ BlackBart. I doubt Volvo would be interested in this for their museum, it's not good enough for that.

@ Blacklab467 Not an eBay find, a private sale I came across online. They have a proper rubber tray at the back so would be ideal as winter mats but I don't think the carpet would withstand a couple of winters
