Favorite method for cleaning rubber Volvo mats?

I actually brought it to a detailer. I don't know if he tried steam cleaning or just a regular shampooing though. Stickiness is gone, green color remains.

Heated pressure washer and then some vinyl protectant afterwards may work...

I'd love to have a heater pressure washer! I bought one a number of years ago, but it needed more work than I was willing to put into it. It was a very old Steam Jenny. I ended up selling the more unique parts on ebay, and scrapping the rest.

I have not worked on the mats again, yet. I do plan on using some sort of protectant on them. I might try that 303 stuff I've heard good things about.

Careful with any protectants on floor mats. They can make them slippery, particularly when wet.

That it can, if left applied and not buffed back down with a paper towel or such. Also don't apply it to motorcycle tires/tyres for obvious reasons =)
