Hi,

Another EV conversion question...

I am wondering if my 1998 V70 used a CAN system, and if so, if there is a tie-in block someplace.

If so, I would be tieing in with an Arduino and CANBUS shield to interface with the CAN system... turn off or re-purpose unneeded warning lights, re-use the tachometer, etc. Big CAN of worms (har har) and definitely something to do after the car is mobile, but a nice way of making it refined and pleasant to own and drive.

I'm already using an Arduino as the core of the motor controller I built. I'll probably end up with a bank of the damn things.

Does my 1998 even have CAN?

thank you

Hm. So, if I want to trick the various gauges into working, I'll need to dummy up inputs with resisters and whatnot?

OK.

Thanks for the info.

I have just realized most of the posts by ThaddeusTheBold will be about electric conversion of his 98 V70. These interest me and I will try to follow them.

Matthew,
Would it be an advantage to create a separate forum for electric vehicles and electric conversions?
