Where can I get bulbs for my dash?

Post by 02V70 »

Half of the bulbs are burnt out on my 2002 v70 instrument cluster. Where can I get replacements? IPD has this, however, they do not ship to an address different than the billing one on my bankcard, and I need it to ship to my college mailroom. FCP also has them, but at $10 a bulb :o

Auto wrecker is your friend for stuff like this. These are pretty unique bulbs.

T5 looks about right. Amazon might be safer as you can return them if they are incorrect.

Ship to bank card address and have someone forward to school address? Shipping would be cheap for bulbs.

This bulb guide might be helpful. I noticed the Amazon item above showed 37, 74 as cross references. Those are on page 31 of the attachment.

The ipd bulbs had two different wattages in the kit. Would it be fine if I replace them all with ebay/amazon ones with the same wattage?

Junk yard cluster is $35 in my area.

Ebay cluster is $60-$70 (incl shipping).
Best is to buy a used cluster and get the bulbs.

PS: there is a DIY in forum where they talked about where to get the original bulbs for cheap...
Using the wrong bulb will be an eye sore...

Turns out some of the bulbs fell out of their black socket. I dissasembled the instrument cluster, put the bulbs back in with a little super glue to prevent them from falling out again.

I happened to see this on IPD website, 9 bulbs for $9.91.
The 1 and only customer's review is very good:
