LOl! Thank you for sharing your post. Did you pull away the fuel filler housing - rubber fitting - to reach behind with locknut?MoVolvos wrote: ↑13 Nov 2023, 12:04.
I used fasteners. If your door pops open leave it alone unlike the zip tie and shrink wrap I tried to improve it with. Everything still working fine however.
(EDIT) Keep in mind this will no longer be a break away which Volvo intended the door hinge to function. Will have both door and body damage if caught on something.

Yes, after removing the retaining ring just push it back some without disconnecting the filler neck.xHeart wrote: ↑13 Nov 2023, 14:33LOl! Thank you for sharing your post. Did you pull away the fuel filler housing - rubber fitting - to reach behind with locknut?MoVolvos wrote: ↑13 Nov 2023, 12:04.

When applying Gummi Pflege to my door seals in preparation for the winter a few weeks ago I noticed the driver door seal was starting to look its age so I ordered a new seal which it arrived today. 10 minutes later it was fitted and given a coat of Gummi Pflege

Changed the column lock today, removed an almost perfectly functional (worked 99.99 % of the time) lock and replaced it with a $470 part. If you have to change your's don't order the shear bolts for $8.00, the new lock comes with them. The key would get stuck in position "0" and not turn, it did this 3 times in the last 6 weeks, even after I removed the metal plate from the bottom of the lock which is a hack that seems to work in most instances.

The price on that part hurts, but the ordering it and getting it in three days is heartwarming.
I had to do a P80 and a P2 last year. I didn’t snap off the security bolts. Old age is best theft protection

HAha, I actually used reused the old bolts that I dremelled a flathead notch into so now I have 4 security bolts that I will never use! The piece of mind of not getting stranded in sparsely settled areas without cell service in my car is heartwarming. Volvo does a good job on getting these parts to you quick, I don't even know where the lock was coded, I ordered it from Volvo Toronto. Maybe it was configured in Europe somewhere?

Lower engine mount torque rod
I wasn't sure what state the original mount was in, it wasn't giving me any problems but I have had to change this before on my XC90 and they are a common fault. So I decided to change mine today.
I was surprised when I removed the original and the rubber was still holding on the smaller bush (always this one that breaks), and it did feel like it was about to part company. When tested with the slightest pressure applied the bush rubber broke free from its holding. Perfect timing to change a well known weak part on P2 chassis cars

I had to look up "Gummi Pflege." I imagined it was some Scottish or Norwegian treat. Disappointed.
I swapped the snows back on last night in the dark. It's that time again, isn't it? We're getting a frost most nights. Nearly new Blizzaks - great winter tires.
