Brining back a dead thread, I'm wondering about our electrical options for trailer lighting. Abscate, what did you run? Uhaul is having a hell of time figuring it out. Worried that I'm going to get the wrong electrical configuration that won't work right when they go to install it.

I ran a 12 volt battery to the taillights , I haven’t spliced into a full solution yet.

Bad boy.

Just FYI I recently went through this and looking up the specs, the quoted tow capacity is while using a trailer WITH BRAKES. This is an important distinction.

It's interesting, as through time tow ratings have dropped considerably on cars. I have a hunch manufactures are designing cars with less wiggle room as well as getting worried about liability

Varies by State too. We have to use brakes in all wheels for trailers over 1500 pounds

I never quite understood what happens “ legally” if you cross state lines. My guess is you can be ticketed
