1998 Volvo V70GLT - barometric sensor - what wire goes where?

Post by astroman77 »

Hi Guys,

Got another question I need help with. I am finally getting around to repairing the barometric sensor (located on the passenger fender wall - right in front of the wiper fluid reservoir). The wires have been cut (probably a squirrel??) for a long time. I tried unsuccessfully to de-pin the original connector (violet in color), but ended up destroying it in the process. So I have a new plug, but I don't know which wire goes where - there are 3 wires. From left to right on the baro sensor, which goes where? The 3 wires' colors are: yellow/brown, purple/white, and brown/tan? I cannot seem to find a wiring diagram that shows this. Any help is appreciated! Thx!!

I've got a 1997 850 GLT so can't offer up direct help, but my car does have the barometric sensor. The Haynes wiring diagram doesn't show the sensor on the system wiring diagram. If it would be of use I can go check my car and let you know what the wiring insulation looks like.
1997 855 GLT (Light Pressure Turbo) still going strong. Previous: 1986 240 GL rusted out in '06, 1985 Saab 900T rusted out in '95, 1975 Saab 99 rusted out in '95, 1973 Saab 99 rusted out in '94

jreed, sure that would be great if you don't mind - I appreciate it. i don't know what harm could be done if they were improperly plugged in to the wrong spots? Thanks!

The 1998 Volvo wiring diagrams are public on the web. We don’t host them here per an agreement with Volvo mothership. We are allowed to link to them here , and that has been done

I think it is listed as 7/95 on the diagram. Here is a picture of mine.
