Try the Instrument Store for a replacement. My replacement cluster for a 2001 S 60 works fine but only above 38 - 40 degrees temperature. Below that the whole cluster shuts off. Is there a temperature sensitive component in the car which might cause this? Help please!

Question for the gurus...

The 2004 V70 with > 140K miles has intermittent issues
(missing odo mileage reading, fuel gauge empty despite it being full)...

- From what I understand, it is from broken solder joints. Has anyone done the soldering repair? Link?

- Re swapping DIM, does it show the new mileage of the "new" (used cluster from eBay, jy etc)?

- Years...is the DIM for 2001-2003 S60/V70 different than 2004-2009 models?

UPDATE for those who want to change cluster...

- Search forum for compatibility...2001-2003 vs 2004 vs
2005 ---> etc etc. I am no expert
so I bought the exact same year on ebay (for my 2004 V70) with GREEN connector.

- The 2004 V70 was at 142,000 miles or so, it now shows 127,790 miles, which is
the odometer reading of the ebay cluster; consistent with what others have said in this forum.

- NOTE: very few ebay sellers hook up the cluster to the test car and take a photo for you.
I happened to see an ebay listing where the seller hook it up and take photos of the actual
odometer reading. Otherwise, you have to take their word (if they ever say how many miles
on the odo reading in the ebay listing!).

- BEST is to get a cluster with similar miles. If your car currently has 142K miles and you
bought a cluster with 280K, you will see 280K on the odometer. It makes it look worse than
it is. This is the problem with junk yard clusters.
